| Q. | Wallpaper border? | Related Search: Decorating & Remodeling | | | I have a wallpaper border in my bathroom at the very top of my wall and its like coming off from steam and stuff so if I take it down what else can I put up there on the wall to look nice?
| | A. | Nothing really needs to be up there. Especially if you want the room to feel higher. But if you really like something there, the stencilling sugestions are good ones. Also, how about wood molding? It will look very classic and well finished. But the wall border...it must come down. | | | |
| Q. | How do I remove wallpaper border and not the underlying wallpaper? | Related Search: Decorating & Remodeling | | | When my husband and I got married last summer, I wanted to do a couple of things to his house to fix it up a little without spending tons of money. Well, one thing is the border in the kitchen. I like the wallpaper in the kitchen, but I don't like the border at the top. Is there any way to remove the border, yet leave the wallpaper? I've seen wallpaper glue remover at Lowe's but I'm afraid this will remove the border AND the wallpaper I want to leave up. HELP!
| | A. | i am by no means an expert, but I really don't think that this can be done, you may think about putting a new boarderover the old one? good luck | | | |
| Q. | What's the wallpaper strip or border at the top of a room called? | Related Search: Decorating & Remodeling | | | I KNOW that the wallpaper border at the top of some rooms has a name besides "border" but none of my friends have any idea what I'm talking about. Can anyone help me? I'm not talking about molding or anything wooden or plaster...it's wallpaper edging that goes at the top of the wall around the room. It's very common, but I just know I've called it something besides plain old "border." Seems like it might be a French name? or maybe not. Any suggestions ?
| | A. | Bordeure is the origin name but it is just border | | | |
| Q. | Can I put wallpaper border along the middle of the wall in a baby's room without painting 2 different colors? | Related Search: Decorating & Remodeling | | | The walls of my baby's room are already painted and I want to put a wallpaper border that matches my crib bedding in the room. Should I hang it near the ceiling or in the middle? Also, if I hang in the middle, do I need to add a chair rail to the room or paint the bottom a different color from the top? Basically will it look odd if I only have the wallpaper border in the middle of the wall?
| | A. | sure you can..............its your house and it will look fine | | | |
| Q. | Where can I locate a wallpaper border that has been discontinued? | Related Search: Decorating & Remodeling | | | I am looking for a wallpaper border that I believe has been discontinued. I am told it was manufactured by Village, who is now Blue Mountain. I am not positive of this but that is the information I received. I am having no luck finding it anywhere. The border has an assortment of flowers, a white picket fence, kittens, butterflies, and a backpack hanging on the fence. Any ideas where I can find it?

| Q. | Is it possible to put a wallpaper border on a textured wall? | Related Search: Decorating & Remodeling | | | I have textured walls in my kitchen and I can't find a stencil that I like, but I did find a wallpaper border. Is it necessary to sand off the texture or can I paste the border over it?
| | A. | Yeap ! Very easy .... Just buy regular wall paper paste , and put it on heavy ; Its goes up easy , and stays. Don't try to put the border up by just wetting it , and using the paste on it ; it will not work ; extra paste is needed . Buy the pre - mixed kind . It comes in a plastic
container , and is very similar to the old regular " school paste"
that is used for grade school art projects ...
We did it ... we had a room upstairs that was very " time worn"
we covered it with textured wall paper, which hid a lot of sins, then painted the textured paper and then simply put the border up ... It looks great ...
| Q. | What is the best adhesive for wallpaper border? | Related Search: Decorating & Remodeling | | | We are putting border up in the kitchen. The previous tenants had a wallpaper border that was barely adhered to the wall - peeled right off by hand. Under that we found a smaller, older border that is ripped in many places and painted over with semi-gloss paint in others. The new border is prepasted, but recommends vinyl-on-vinyl adhesive if it's being applied over another wallcovering.
Should I just use water, get vinyl on vinyl adhesive, or use something else? I want it to look nice and not fall off the wall!
Saaanen - it is a mix of all three. The smaller old border is not coming off at all despite all our attempts. It's on fairly tightly so we are going to paper over it. The new border is larger, so will not only cover the old border (and all the places where it is ripped/scraped/painted over) but also a section of normal wall. So I think the water method is probably least likely to succeed (given the mix of surfaces) but wanted other opinions/experiences. We will sand/scrape what's up there so the surface will at least be smooth and flat.
| | A. | I don't understand your question. If you are putting the border directly on the wall, just use the water dip method. If you are putting the border over a vinyl wallpaper, use vinyl-vinyl paste. If you are putting it over semigloss paint, I would suggest the vinyl-vinyl paste, but It will be REALLY tough to remove.
Why not just stencil a pretty border? There are SO many available.
