	Last year I went to a high school reunion, and messed about a little. A few months ago I notices that I now have a whitish discharge (I never had anything but clear before), and my vagina seems to be a little swollen inside. I am afraid to go to the Doctor in case it is VD and my husband finds out. All I want to know, would a VD take 1 year before making itself known? Thx everyone.
A.	Yes it's possible. Some people infected with viral STD's will never show symptoms. It can take anywhere from weeks to years to actually show symptoms. Bacterial STD's will usually cause symptoms earlier. You need to see your doctor. From your symptoms, you could have an infection called bacterial vaginosis which is not an STD. You should also get tested for STD's.

His doctor can give him medicine to help him feel better but he still has to be careful from now on. A.	A lot of STDs have no symptoms, or take months and even years to see any signs of the STD. There is no test for HPV for men, so men usually don't know they have it unless they develop genital warts from it.
