| Q. | How dependable is travel.state.gov? | Related Search: Other - United States | | | I know this site lists various travel alerts that Americans should pay attention to when considering traveling abroad but I have friends from a lot of the countries listed and they always say, "Oh it's not like that, we are very friendly to Americans" and they go on to list different cities that would be nice to visit. I know those warnings are there to protect us, but what do you think? Would ya still go? Just curious. I'm an adventurous person, but don't wanna make a mistake either.
| | A. | If you are going to be with friends that will look out for you, it's a safe bet that you'll be fine. The guidelines are published to help those who are going overseas for the first time. A word to the wise, if it doesn't look, sound or smell right it isn't. | | | |

| | A. | That's the one. [Link] > is the U.S. Department of State website. If it makes you feel better, go to the contact info and actually call or speak to someone. Or, call your closest U.S. embassy and verify the site.
It is a valid site, but by all means, double check it for yourself.
| Q. | I was told I could go to npic@state.gov to check on status of passports. How do I do this? | Related Search: Other - Business & Finance | | | I tried going there and then to travel.state.gov, but didn't find any way to go farther, so that I get to a place where I can check on the status of our passports. | Q. | I can't seem to get proof of passport application by using the travel.state.gov website as recommended.? | Related Search: Immigration | | | Does anyone know how to get proof of application? Has anyone tried to use the state web-site and gotten a page to print out? Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but every time I try to do this, a page comes up saying "Your applicaton has not been found. It is possible it has not made it into our system yet." We applied 3 months ago!!! Any suggestions?
| | A. | With current backlog of passport applications it may be a matter of the application itself not being processed. I know that might sound crazy, but the news has been reporting for weeks now that it may take as long as 6-8 weeks for an application to be processed. I would try and fill out another application in the event that the original was lost or misplaced. I would also indicate it's a duplicate request to avoid duplication of a passport.
I hope this helps. | | | |

and is there a way to expedite the whole process.. ?

| | A. | this site will help u.

there are 2 links to agencies that help get passports and visas. but there should be someone at your base that can help you. Don't worry to much about the 25 days. You have time to get it. You can get a passport/visa in a shorter amount of time if needed but you will have to pay more I think.
this link

will tell you the phone numbers of the German Embassy. You can call them if you need help.
