| Q. | What camera replaced the Panasonic Lumix DMC TZ5? | Related Search: Cameras | | | I have the Lumix TZ5 and love it. Recommending a camera for a friend and I see that Panasonic has moved on from the TZ series. Are any of their current lines similar? It's not clear.
| | A. | I have the TZ5 also and think it is great. The TZ5 was replaced by the ZS1. The ZS1 has more optical zoom, it has 12x optical zoom. The cameras look almost the same though.

| Q. | I am struggling between the Panasonic Lumix DMC TZ5 and the canon sx110 is. Which is better? | Related Search: Cameras | | | I recently bought a panasonic lumix tz5 and love the auto intelligent mode and the HD video. My problem is that there are very limited manual options, and the picture quality is a little grainy and oversmoothed indoors. If I take it back and get the canon, can its auto mode compete with the lumix? I would really like manual options but I also need good auto for those quick shots. Any help
| | A. | I have a Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ5 and a Canon camera too. I really like the TZ5 better. I haven't had any grainy pictures inside or out, actually I've been overy happy with the performance of the TZ5.
I actually took a picture (it was outside not inside) moving 40 miles per hour in a vehicle and to my surprise it came out great.
I liked it so much in fact I built a website about the camera and my experience with it. visit if you like at [Link]
| Q. | How good is Panasonic - Lumix DMC-TZ5 at taking pictures of the moon and the sky at night?can anyone give .... | Related Search: Cameras | | | can anyone give me some samples of the camera at the conditions i mentioned in my question?
| | A. | Moon is like big rock in sky, lit by sun. 2 photograph moon, U set camera just like for rock in daylight. Put camera in manual....ooops, your camera not have manual control. Uh oh. Not good for moon shooting. U try trick instead: make camera take flash picture of moon. This maybe fake camera out to give faster shutter speed so moon not a big white blob. Flash not strong enough to light moon up, so is big trick on camera, ha! ha! But if shutter speed fast enough, it will keep moon from being big white blob in your photo.
For sky at night, use starry sky mode on camera. See manual and use camera menu. Camera must be on tripod, unless U want blurry starry sky. Ha, ha! I make joke. But tripod important for good photo at night of stars.
No samples from me. I use camera with manual control. U use camera with no manual control. Pictures not the same.
U listen to me, U get good photos. Trust Mr. A.
| Q. | Panasonic Lumix DMC...TZ5 or wait for ZS3? | Related Search: Cameras | | | I have been doing great research and finally narrowed my options down to the Panasonic TZ5. Then I heard that the Panasonic ZS3 will be coming out in late April, early May 2009. What are the differences between these two cameras? And if anyone knows, when is the actual release date of the ZS3?
| | A. | I have the TZ5 and it is an excellent camera. I would highly recommend it.
The difference between the two are that the ZS3 has 10.1 MP, while the TZ5 has 9.1 MP. And the ZS3 has 12x optical zoom, while the TZ5 has 10x optical zoom.
There is also the ZS1 coming out soon, which is basically the same at the ZS3, but the ZS1 doesn't have the HDMI output terminal.
The ZS1 will be will around $100 cheaper than the ZS3.

| Q. | Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX35 or Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ5? | Related Search: Cameras | | | Okay, so I'm down to these 2 choices...
Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX35
Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ5
I like that the FX35 is compact, but the TZ5 has 10x zoom... And they're for nearly the same price at Amazon... So I need opinions from you camera people. Which of these digital cameras is more of a joy to have and takes the best pictures? And do they work with macs? That's definitely important...
Thanks!
| | A. | I was in the same exact boat as you. I ended up choosing the FX35. I really like how compact it is, I just slip it into my pocket and go. The TZ5 is a bit bigger, a little too bulky to put in a pocket.
I don't have a problem with the zoom either. It has a special feature where you can zoom more than 4x, but it makes the final picture a smaller size, but its the same quality. Even if your zoomed in the whole way, the pic is still plenty big.
And YES, these camera's both work with macs.
Here are some pics I have taken with the FX35:

The pictures are very high resolution. Overall, I am very impressed with my FX35 and I think you would be too.
| Q. | What would you say the Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ5 is mainly used for? | Related Search: Cameras | | | A) Taking pictures while traveling
B) Taking pictures of family and friends
C) Learning photography
D) Other
| | A. | A, B and D
D includes learning how to compose photos and shooting fun videos of friends etc.
Since it has no aperture or shutter priority, it cannot be used to even learn even the very basics of exposure, shutter speed control and selective focus, to name only a few techniques used in photography. Add to that, you cannot use interchangeable lenses from fisheye to extreme telephoto and that the sensor is at least 15 times smaller than fully adjustable cameras, so the resolution is not as good when using any P&S camera
