| Q. | How Long do Professional Panasonic Cameras last? | Related Search: Camcorders | | | I'm a professional photog and I rent my cameras. I'm Considering purchasing a used professional grade Panasonic camera. They all have the hour meter to tell how old they are. How long do they generally last? I don't want one that will die in 6 months. If any one could tell me how many hours they generally last it would be really appreciated.
thanks
| | A. | they will last with care until they become obsolete, typically 20 years. most pro cameras die of abuse, they are dropped, set on a tripod that collapses, used in rainstorm. i know of one case where the news photographer took it in the sauna, and when tape refused to roll because of the dew sensor, she pulled out a hair dryer and melted the insides. you should be able to get business insurance to cover most instances of abuse that are result of simple negligence. | | | |
| Q. | What are the newest Panasonic cameras? | Related Search: Cameras | | | I've been looking into the Panasonic cameras and I was wondering if anyone knew what their newest point and shoot camera is. I looked at the panasonic DXC-TZ7, TZ5, TZ6 and ZS7....But I have know Idea if those are the new Panasonic cameras or not.
I've been looking for a camera FOREVER...It's really hard to find the right camera, so any suggestions on what camera would be good to buy or anything like that will be GREAT :)
P.S I'm open to other camera name brands.
Thanks
| | A. | Below is a link to a web page that lists Panasonic cameras, the newer models first. There are links so that you can read up specs on the various models and in some case there will be a camera review.
Hope this helps.

| Q. | In Panasonic cameras just how bad are the firmware algorithms that handle noise? | Related Search: Photography | | |
I mention it because on my LC20 it can be bad at higher ISOs.
And because DPREVIEW complains about it all the time.
I did not expect the noise/grain level to stay the same as I increased ISO.
I just wondering how Panasonic P&S noise control really compares to other brands. Especially, nowadays. (Mine is quite old).
| | A. | And why are you assuming that the algorithms on Panasonic cameras are bad?
Actually the cameras that Panasonic make for Leica have a Leica proprietary algorithm added to further enhance the already good noise reduction.
Next to Sony in the broadcast quality remote TV cameras, Panasonic is a leader in that camera arena ...
Noise is always a problem at high ISO's, just as grain is a problem with films that are high ISO. It has been with photography since film was made in ASA's higher than 25.
The point is, do you want the shot or not. If all you have to give up to get the shot is some grain or noise, the pros have always gone for the shot.
Attempting a shot hand held using a 85mm lens in low light requires something other than good intentions ... High ISO or VR, but in the end to stop the action of the subject only a high shutter speed will do the trick.
Expecting a sensor to perform the same throughout the complete ISO range shows a lack of understanding of the basics of film or sensors. Yes, there are some algorithms that but you end up with an interpolated image ... decided by engineers ...
| Q. | Will olympus and panasonic cameras work with kodak easyshare software on my computer? | Related Search: Cameras | | | I have kodak easyshare software for my current camera (a kodak) on my computer, will I be able to import photos onto my computer using that software with an olympus or lumix camera? If not is there any other software suitable for windows xp that is useful for all cameras, like iphoto on apple?
| | A. | no. windows xp should automatically pick up the camera and move the pictures for you. you can still edit the shots with the kodak software but it will not transfer from your camera. | | | |
| Q. | Are Panasonic digital cameras any good? | Related Search: Cameras | | | I am looking into purchasing a Panasonic DMC-FZ8K Black 7.2 MP Digital Camera 1/2.5" CCD 2.5" 207K LCD 12X Optical Zoom 4X Digital Zoom. Looking for reviews and people who have actually owned a Panasonic. Also, the price is 289.99. To me that seems not to bad, but like I said, I am looking for people who actually know these things! I have read nothing but good reviews so far and was just going to check here to do more research! When you answer this question, could you also tell me what you use this camera for. Obviously taking pictures, but where, when, how often. I am doing reseach to get the best deal I can! Thanks so much in advance!
| | A. | check out the list of prices from the link below.
I am proud of you for doing so much research.
| Q. | is anyone familiar with old panasonic 5000 hd video cameras? | Related Search: Camcorders | | | my dad picked up an old panasonic video camera from his work and were not sure where to look to find the product number. theres a bunch of different numbers on stickers and on the camera itself. we want to find the number in order to find the manual online.
| | A. | in your hunt for information, it is very nearly identical to the D5100 and the WV 3260 models from panasonic, they used interchangeable accessories. this camera is a modular system, so there were a number of optional lenses, viewfinders, power supplies, VCR cables and such that make the D5000 "head" work for a given application. | | | |
| Q. | Why do Panasonic cameras have the Leica logo? | Related Search: Cameras | | | The lenses on Panasonic cameras say Leica, and even the camera itself has the Leica "L"!
How is Leica associated with Panasonic? Here's a picture of a Leica/Panasonic point and shoot:
[Link]
| | A. | The Panasonic Lumix line uses lenses designed by Leica. I'm not totally sure if Leica provided the lenses but what is sure is that those lenses adhere to the very strict superior standards of Leica. Considering that Leica is the highest revered brand in the industry, that "L" would certainly increase the intrinsic value of the Panasonic camera.
It's the same thing with Sony. They have an entirely separate compatible lens line-up from Carl Zeiss. Samsung uses lenses labelled Schneider Kreuznach (did I get that right?) which are actually rebadged Pentax originals.
