Q.How does the Border Patrol Agent background investigation compare to other federal background investigations?Related Search:
Military
I was looking into becoming a border patrol agent for the US. Does it require a Top Secret security clearance, or the likes? How does the background investigation compare to that of what government agencies have to offer? How intense is the application process? I heard other agencies have intense requirements for background checks and I was wondering if this was the same.
A.Border Patrol Agents have to pass among the most thorough background investigations. I'm not sure that a Top Secret clearance is actually granted, but the investigation is identical. All government background investigations are conducted by the OPM. The process is the following: 1. Subject Interview - you'll be questioned about the past 7 years of your life. There is NO polygraph. 2. NAC/LAC Check - during the National Agency Check, your fingerprints and name will be run through national crime databases like NCIS and the FBI database. During the Local Agency Check, the investigator will call the police departments with jurisdiction in ALL of the areas in which you've lived, worked, or gone to school. They'll ask for a report detailing every contact they've had with you, even those that did not result in an arrest. 3. Educational verification - they'll independently verify all of your degrees, certifications and diplomas. 4. Field investigation - the investigator will interview at least one neighbor for each of your residences for the last 7 years (or to age 16, whichever is greater). Then, they'll interview at least 2 of your 4 references and ask for recommendations to other people who know you, and interview them as well. 5. Medical/mental health check - you will go through an intense physical and a psychological exam. Sometimes, they will pull your medical or mental health files. BP is currently very, very competitive, so expect to be waiting a while - at least 3-6 months, typically. Good luck!

Q.A Border Patrol agent in AZ is on trial for shooting an illegal alien who was attacking him. What gives?Related Search:
Law Enforcement & Police
Do Border Patrol agents carry guns because they neatly accessorize the uniforms, or what? Why are they not allowed to use their weapons when under attack?
A.If it happened on the US/Canadian border, nothing would be said. We've replaced public & officer safety with political correctness. You can thank the ACLU.

Q.What border patrol duty station in Arizona best to work at?Related Search:
Law Enforcement & Police
I am going to be going to Arizona to work for border patrol. I was just wondering what duty stations are the best to work at? Also what towns in the Southern part of Arizona are good to live at?
A.To start, if you are a new applicant, you will not have a choice of duty station. New applicants are allowed to present their first, second and third choices for which region they would like to be stationed in. Each region is comprised of one or more patrol sectors and each sector is comprised of several stations. A transferring agent does have the opportunity to select a station by not applying for stations where he or she doesn't want to work. (Unless the transfer is of a compassionate nature.) I've worked in Douglas, Nogales and Tucson with friends in Casa Grande Station. If I had to select, I'd go with Nogales, Tucson or Casa Grande. Nogales is great work, but a little far from Tucson if you like the big city life. Casa Grande is great work, nice place but kind of remote. However, it is still within an hours drive of Tucson. The only real drawback is that you have a long drive from the station to your patrol area. The work in Tucson is fun and the life style is great if you enjoy the metropolitian environment. The one drawback is that it is a big station with the inherent politics. I didn't care for Douglas, but I haven't been there in a long time. Agents currently there tell me that it's gotten much better. It's a small town a good way out from any of the metropolitian attractions, but it is great country living.

Q.What are the reasons for the increase in border patrol of the Mexican-American border?Related Search:
Immigration
Please outline a few of the key reasons why America has bolstered its border patrol policies and if possible, please provide some credible sources.
A.I can give you some ideas... 1. of course, To prevent illegal immigration. There is always ongoing discussion and debates to address the illegal immigration issue. There may also have been some plans they were enacted by the government a ways back which are only kicking in now. 2. To prevent the movement of drugs and the reverse flow of weapons to drug dealers. A lot of the weapons (Most? ) in the current violence in Mexico aree found to have come from the US. 3. To prevent terrorists from potentially moving NBC(Nuclear,Biological, and Chemical) weapons across it. 4. Least likely - as a political tool. By increasing activity along the border and bringing attention to that it might be possible to sway political support from economic freetrade programs that involve the border or Mexico. Programs such as those that allow Mexican truckers using US highways or NAFTA related programs. With tough economic times the government or certain parties in it may be looking for support or rationals for breaking or preventing agreements which appear to take away jobs from Americans.

Q.What do you think about Mexicans throwing rocks at the border patrol?Related Search:
Immigration
Sometimes when the border patrol stops illegals from coming into the USA, their buddies throw rocks at the border patrol. The border patrol shows great restraint and do not use force against these people, who could potentially cause bodily harm to the officers.
A.They are saying what they think of our country and our laws. They are saying f you to us. We are fools to them . They walk in .take over and demonstrate here and burn our flags . What do you think they think of us? Not much !

Q.Is it the right of Border Patrol to come into the city to look for illegal aliens?Related Search:
Immigration
I was told that the local border patrol is planning a sweep of the city to look for illegal citizens. I thought this was the role of homeland security. Do both agencies share in this role? Duh, obviously I didnt know or I wouldnt be asking!
A.Border Patrol is now a part of Homeland Security, so yes, it is part of their job.

The Israeli border guard service is known as the Israel Border Police. it is a part of the Israel Police and it was founded as being part of the frontier corps before it became the Border Police. While its main duty is protecting the borders of Israel, it has also been deployed to be used in helping the Israeli military (IDF) in some conflicts such as the Six Day War.[1][2] A scandal that troubled the Israeli Border Police in 1956 was the Kafr Qasim massacre, where several Palestinian arabs were killed by Israel Border Police.[3]

This annual event, known as the Border Guards Day is celebrated every year by the guards in active service as well as former servicemen in Moscow and throughout the country.[4].

The main duties of the Russian Border Service, which is part of the Russian Interior Ministry MVD is to protect Russia from incursions. One of their most recent tasks was containing the Chechnyan incursion.[5]
