Q.Anderson 360? Wolf Blitzer Reports? WTF is with CNN pimping celebrity news casters?Related Search:
Media & Journalism
Do you think newscasters should spend a little more times with scripts, and less time with blow dryers? Do celebrity news casters add to the news watching experience, or detract from it? Good thought provoking answers... I don't know about eye candy, I just want the relevant news, I could care less about how Anderson Cooper the celeb news personality wants to interpret news events... Even with Walter Cronkite, he wasn't on the "Walter Cronkite Show", he was the anchor on the CBS Evening News...
A.*Shrugging my furry shoulders* This is nothing new, Walter Crokite (as an example) was the same sort way back in the 60's into the 80's. Nor is CNN the only one to do it, FOX is far worse, they have The O'Reilly Factor and Hannity & Colmes. Heck they even have Geraldo. Cannot get much worse than that. CNBC has their own set of celebrity newscasters. Far as newscasts go (barring the fact Wolf Blitzer and I share the same name) Anderson is ok, Wolf I rather like as he tackles a lot of provocative topics, tells the news straight up and his interviews are very well done, but I prefer Lou Dobbs, no one digs into the hard truth of social economic issues like Lou does. Oh, far as adding to or detracting from, that really depends on how much you personally like the particular newscaster in question... *Adding to this with a chuckle for I like you* _No_offense_meant_btw_ but you are probably too young to remember. While you are correct it was called the CBS Evening News, no one thought of it that way... Cronkite served as anchorman of the CBS Evening News from April 16, 1962 until March 6, 1981, a job in which he became an American icon. On September 2, 1963, Cronkite launched network television's first half-hour evening newscast when CBS Evening News expanded from 15 to 30 minutes. For many years, Cronkite was considered one of the most trusted figures in the United States. Affectionately known as "Uncle Walter," he covered many of the important news events of the era so effectively that his image and voice are closely associated with the Cuban missile crisis, the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, the Vietnam War, the Apollo 11 Moon landing, and the Watergate scandal. He is remembered by many as finishing the CBS Evening News with the phrase, "…and that's the way it is," followed by the date. For two decades Cronkite was THE news, in fact his thoughts mattered more to America than anyone's at the time. Following Cronkite's editorial report during the Tet Offensive that the war in Vietnam was unwinnable, President Lyndon Johnson said, "If I've lost Walter Cronkite, I've lost Middle America." Soon after Cronkite's report, Johnson dropped out of the 1968 presidential race. So you see, he was a massive celebrity, bigger than all the ones on today rolled together...

Seriously, the guy is like a robot when he gives his reports: Without any emotion and he always reports in the same manner day after day. Sometimes when I see him on t.v. I change the channel just to spare me of hearing his boring voice. Agree?
A.I seldom watch Blitzer so I'm not bored with him yet but anyone can get boring day after day. Try another network, even if it's not what you usually watch or listen to. Sometimes you'll stumble across someone you really like and other times it's like a comedy show!

Q.Why is the main stream media not covering the story of the McCain supporter who was attacked with a knife?Related Search:

And the perpetrator carved a B into her face with the knife after beating her up. A guy on CNN just blasted Wolf Blitzer for not reporting on it as they have repeated run clips of the same McCain rally when the guy yell "kill him"........What is up with that?
A.Why did anyone take this story seriously? The "B" was carved in her face backwards! The girl is from college station, TX and I can tell you right now there is nothing out there except Texas A&M University and a bunch of crazy rednecks. But she was smart enough to say a black guy did it being that everyone believed that part.

Q.Christians, is abortion wrong: Yes or no?Related Search:

TV Preacher And Christian Coalition Leader Says Chinese Are 'Doing What They Have To Do' To Curb Population Growth TV preacher and Christian Coalition founder Pat Robertson has condoned China's policy of forced abortions, telling CNN's Wolf Blitzer last night that the Chinese are "doing what they have to do" to keep the lid on a spiraling population. Robertson, who has repeatedly blasted legal abortion in the United States, said during an interview on "Wolf Blitzer Reports" that the Chinese policy is necessary because the country's population has topped 1 billion. Asked by Blitzer to give his thoughts on the forced abortion policy, Robertson replied, "Well, you know I don't agree with it. But at the same time, they've got 1.2 billion people, and they don't know what to do. If every family over there was allowed to have three or four children, the population would be completely unsustainable." Robertson, who acknowledged that he has business interests in China, went on to say that China suffers from "tremendous unemployment" and is plagued with "antiquated factories" owned by the government that will have to be shut down, spawning more loss of jobs. "And the leadership is like on a teeter-totter board," he said. "They can fall off if the population gets too restive. So, I think that right now they are doing what they have to do. I don't agree with forced abortion, but I don't think the United States needs to interfere with what they're doing internally in this regard." Blitzer then asked Robertson if he was worried about conservatives accusing him of justifying the Chinese abortion policy. Robertson refused to back down, stating that China is courting "a demographic catastrophe" by aborting more girls than boys. He speculated that in 10 or 20 years Chinese men will have to import wives from Indonesia. This move, he said, "will, in a sense, dilute the--what they consider the racial purity of the Han Chinese." Barry W. Lynn, executive director of Americans United for Separation of Church and State, called Robertson's comments "mind boggling." "This is more proof of just how extreme Robertson really is," said Lynn. "He wants to ban all abortions in the U.S. and allow forced abortions in China. Robertson seems deeply confused. "With these comments, Robertson has taken a position so radical that it would probably alienate nearly every American," Lynn added. "I wonder how many Christian Coalition members will quit when they hear this outburst." Lynn noted that this is not the first time Robertson has justified repressive policies in China in order to advance his business interests. In September of 1998, Robertson traveled to China where he met with top government officials and praised religious freedom in the country. Other conservative leaders have criticized China for persecuting Christian groups and forcing them underground, but Robertson said he believes the country respects religious freedom. At the time, Robertson's U.S. Media Corporation was involved in a business deal with the Chinese government to produce children's television programming. Concluded AU's Lynn, "These statements tell us a lot about Robertson's true priorities. Apparently, he's willing to put profits ahead of principle whenever convenient." Americans United is a religious liberty watchdog group based in Washington, D.C. Founded in 1947, the organization represents 60,000 members and allied houses of worship in all 50 states.
A.Abortion is wrong. And Pat Robertson is a false teacher. End of story.

Minnesota (home of the RNC convention)- Obama 53-41 Iowa-55-40 new mexico- 53-40 Obama- 243 McCain- 189 toss-up states are turning out to be bluer and bluer. It's incredible. I think Virginia is next! The blue-collar areas that are republican firewalls are incredibly turning to Barack Obama's side. A lot of the areas Bush carried are going toward Barack and not McCain which is alarming to the republicans. so much for holding the convention by Minnesota. Reported by Wolf Blitzer and John King on CNN's situation room! sorry my mistake: I didn't mean to include minnesota in there. btw Artemis I live in the VA/MD/DC area as well and Obama is heavily favored. A.Yeah...I believe it because I live in the DC-MD-VA area and the local politics...even right down to the county I live in turned over from Republican to Democrat since 2006....I mean it from local, state, and congressional government...People are simply fed up with the GOP and I believe this is an indication that the times are a 'changin.....
