A.	No, I'm pretty sure that most Hán tự is merely aestethic now. I know that my grandfather on my dad's side (who is Vietnamese) learned Hán tự, but my father didn't know it. I've talked to my father about it, and he says there are almost no books that teach Hán tự nowadays. Sorry.

	I was wondering if anyone else here can read Quốc Ngữ. Are there any other Vietnamese here?
A.	More or less, yes I can read Quốc Ngữ. My parents made me learn how to read and write in Vietnamese when I was a kid, but I pretty much forgot it until I was in high school when I had a renewed interest in it. I read Vietnamese a lot better than I can write it. I'm currently trying to read Truyện Kiều by Nguyễn Du. I also know some Chữ Nôm because I'm studying Chinese.
