| Q. | Jazz/Blues? | Related Search: Blues | | | Anyone else like the jazz and blues? My favorites of jazz are: Sonny Rollins, Armstrong, Coltrane, Davis. And my favorites of the blues are: Robert Johnson, BB King, S.R.V, Buddy Guy and Professor Longhair.
| | A. | I've seen Buddy Guy live and have been lucky enough to see John Lee Hooker (say him one time just before he died). Etta James is fantastic (who gives a rat's a$$ about the Aguilera girl - unless she goes into blues and jazz).
Who can't like the blues? Hell, the blues gave us heavy metal.
and then you got Cassandra Wilson; and even young girls like the late Eva Cassidy.
As for the ladies of blues who play guitar - of course, Bonnie Raitt; then you got Susan Tedeschi; and the young Shannon Curfman (who I saw play with the lead guitarist of the Black Crowes after the Crowes did the Zep thing - and Doyle SRV's buddy opened for her).

| Q. | What's a good jazz/blues guitar to start out on? | Related Search: Blues | | | I'm pretty confident with my basic skills and I think it's time to start playing some blues/jazz! does anyone know a good and reasonably priced guitar to start with?
| | A. | Check out the ES-175 Epiphone which is inexpensive, plays extremely well and has a beautiful fingerboard. That guitar is well worth the money for your style of playing. Or you can get a ES-335 Gibson if you can afford it or again, the Epiphone semi-acoustic electric which also sound nice.
Edit... The artcore Ibanez is a good guitar as well as pointed out by the poster beneath me . Its a matter of taste. I like the EX-175 for the fat sound. The Es-335 has less bass but more mid.
| Q. | Does anyone have any recommendations for jazz/blues piano sheet music? | Related Search: Hobbies & Crafts | | | My sister's birthday is coming up and I know she's getting bored with the music she's got at the moment. I want to get her some jazz and maybe blues music but aren't quite sure what to go for. A combination of upbeat jazz and slower blues would be great.
She's grade 8 standard and I'd like to get her something that's not so difficult she'll be put off playing it, but that is challenging enough that she'll have to at least put some effort into mastering it.
Thanks for your help.
