| Q. | aviation first class medical certifiicate question? | Related Search: Aircraft | | | If you have asthma mild asthma that is that is allergy induced can you still obtain a first class medical certificate for flying?
| | A. | Asthma is not a problem if symptoms are infrequent or mild and have never required medication or a trip to the hospital, and if they don't occur in flight. In more serious cases, the decision on whether or not to issue the medical must be deferred to the FAA and needs to be backed up by adequate documentation. In general, unless you have really bad asthma, you can get a medical. | | | |

| Q. | I received my first class medical on 3/13/2007 im currently 19 when does my medical expire? | Related Search: Aircraft | | | I received my first class (aviation) medical on 3/13/2009 im currently 19 when does my medical expire? Am i gran fathered in on the new requirements and hold my first class rating for 60 months (5 years)?
| | A. | I question why you would have a first class medical at 17 years old. You Must hold a first-class medical certificate "When exercising the privileges of an airline transport pilot certificate;"
At 17 you are not eligible for a ATP, therefore have no need for a first class medical. That said..
A first class medical is NEVER valid for 60 mos. Currently, if you are under 40, the first class is only valid for 12 mos. The first class in '07 was good for only six months, then is becomes a second class good for a year (from date of issuance), then becomes a third class. In you case, if you are exercising the privileges of a recreational pilot certificate, a private pilot certificate, a flight instructor certificate (when acting as pilot in command or a required pilot flight crewmember in operations other than glider or balloon), a student pilot certificate, or a sport pilot certificate (when not using a U.S. driver's license as medical qualification) because after the changes, current, valid medicals were grandfathered. the third class privileges are valid until 3/31/2012 (based on a 2007 issuance)

| | A. | Your First Class medical exam does not test for drugs, BUT if you want to fly for a living, any company that hires you as a commercial pilot is required to test , both pre-employment and random screens. If you want to fly for a living, DON'T DO DRUGS! | | | |

| Q. | What do I have need to get a wavier for color deficiency on a 1st class medical? | Related Search: Aircraft | | | Next week im going for my first class Aviation medical and im pretty sure im gonna fail the plate test, what are my option then to get a waiver and receive my medical?
| | A. | If you think you are going to fail DO NOT take the test. It goes on your permenant record and somewhere down the road it may come to haunt your career. In fact, on every medical application afterward, and every airline application, you will have to state that you failed a medical test. So, I advise that you get independent (non-FAA) eye testing first to determine the actual level of deficiency, then schedule an appointment to speak with an AME (Aviation Medical Examiner) regarding obtaining a waiver for your deficiency. Often it is just a case of demonstrated ability, depending how bad your color blindness is. | | | |
