| Q. | how to become a good and sucsesflu film actress? | Related Search: Theater & Acting | | | hi my name is maddie and i want to become a film actress.i am 12 years old and live in a small town where like nothing really big goes on. i want to become an actress but dont know how to get started. when would i have to get head shots?? or would i have to wait until i have some experience until i start thinking about head shots. what age is a good time to start?? so if you could help me that would be great!!
| | A. | You should start as young as possible, to see if you like it enough to do it for a long time.
You should first go to acting classes, both to improve your acting and to teach you about the business, because it's not easy. Some good schools are John Casablancas and John Robert Powers.
Then, after you finish that, you can audition for an agency and get headshots. NEVER GO TO A PORTRAIT PLACE FOR HEADSHOTS. They aren't professional. After that, you can start auditioning for little jobs. From there you can go to L.A. and start auditioning for bigger roles!
Good luck Maddie! | | | |
| Q. | Where in LA/Hollywood should I move to if I want 2 become a film actress & what is public transportation like? | Related Search: Theater & Acting | | | I know absolutely nothing about the landscape/geographical locations of California, so where would be a lucrative/logical and SAFE area of California that I should move to if I want to get into film? And would I need a car and what is public transportation like?
Oh, and do you have any really good and accredited film school recommendations?
Thanks.
| | A. | As Docbritt has just pointed out Mac77 is clueless. Because of the way LA is laid out no matter where you choose to live, it will put you some distance from somewhere else that you will invariably need to be at some point in time. For instance, some of the studios are in Burbank so you might choose that neighborhood only to have auditions that are in Santa Monica or Manhattan Beach. Both will be a trek from Burbank. Choose to live in Manhattan Beach and you've got a slog to Hollywood or the Valley. So that being said, having your own car is an absolute necessity. While the LA public transportation system is fine for a daily static commute from point A to point B, you as an actor may need to be in several different locations during the day and public trans just isn't going to cut it. Not even close.
There are many film schools in LA, USC film school being the one most everyone knows about. Use google and you can find all the others.
Use Googlemaps.
LA is kind of divided into two areas. One is nicknamed "The West Side" and is basically everything west of downtown Los Angeles. Some of the areas are Hollywood, West Hollywood, Culver City, Santa Monica, Playa Del Ray, Marina Del Ray, Venice Beach. Then there's the neighborhoods just north and to the east of downtown LA like Silver Lake, and Los Feliz, both considered to be trendy and hip neighborhoods.
You then have the San Fernando Valley or SFV. There are a couple of studios over there, casting offices etc. Woodland Hills, Studio City, Reseda are a few that areas that come to mind. As you work east you come into Glendale and Burbank.

| | A. | Why not do both?... Take night classes.. That way you can audition during the day..
Not going to college is a really bad idea..Espually right now.. there using all famous actor on almost all movies...=(
I think it would be a good idea to do both... go to school and get your acting career started.

| Q. | What are people's views on the film actress Emma Thompson? | Related Search: Celebrities | | | Both as a person and an actress?

| Q. | Would you ever marry an adult film actress or actor? | Related Search: Marriage & Divorce | | | I know they're usually very hot but it would be very uncomfortable for me to know my friends can just go home and watch my wife in an adult film on the internet. That obviously didn't bother UFC fighter Tito Ortiz who married and had kids with Jenna Jameson. What about you, could you do it?
| | A. | If they were still active in the business? No.
Retired? I would consider it.
| Q. | Can someone become a successful film actress/actor if they start at 18? | Related Search: Theater & Acting | | | With no experience, just the desire and commitment.
| | A. | It really depends on your ability, and who you know.
There are thousands of kid actors 'making it' out there in the film industry with no experience whatsoever. Film acting, well, acting in general, is a very cut-throat industry. You definitely need a back-up career in mind before you pursue acting.
But follow your dreams! You don't want to spend your life wishing you had taken a chance! Just make sure you plan, and have a backup. Good luck!
