Q.What does the economy class on an airplane have?Related Search:
Air Travel
What's the difference between economy class and coach? Does economy have food and tv's? Sorry, not much intelligence on this subject.
A.Economy usually means coach; some airlines (like United) have an "economy plus," which is basically more leg room. Yes, economy serves food, although on domestic flights most airlines are now charging for it. They all have some sort of screen, but on short hops they usually don't show TV or films. Some have TV in the seat back in front of you, some have a drop-down screen, some just have large screens at the front of each cabin. If you'd like to check the amenities on a particular type of aircraft, this site is excellent: [Link]

Q.on an Economy class flight of Delta Airlines from Ghana to U.S can anyone give me d vivid meals they serve ?Related Search:
Aircraft
On Delta airlines flight from ghana to the U.S(JFK),what are some of the meals served at the economy class? How many times do they serve? How is the general entertainment like, how comfortable is this plane? What are some of the meals served on board?
A.Delta has 767 service from Accra to New York-Kennedy. The actual meal selections will vary depending on what catering choices were made and what was available on that day. You can expect meal service similar service to that of DLs other trans Atlantic 767s in coach. Check out [Link]  for meal ratings and photos of dishes served and go to [Link] / or [Link]  for seat & inflight entertainment/IFE reviews. There are several reviews submitted in the past few weeks of Delta international economy service that only rate 2-3 stars. Apparently mediocre food and IFE....

Q.How are Economy class conditions on a plane?Related Search:
Air Travel
Refresh me: I haven't been in an airplane since '98. How are the conditions of economy/coach class? I've heard that even though it is cheap, it is uncomfortable, and the food is dreadful. But perhaps times have changed?
A.Times have changed, but not for the better. You will likely find it rather cramped. The food, however, is not as likely to be dreadful. It's more likely to be non-existent. All of this varies from airline to airline, from one aircraft type to another, and between domestic and international flights.

Q.Do you think it will be comfortable traveling in economy class of Emirates with a 5 months old baby?Related Search:
Air Travel
I'm planning to travel from Dhaka, bangladesh to London, UK with my 5 months old daughter in economy class of Emirates. Has anyone travelled with infant in economy class? Do you think its better to go in business class? I'm travelling alone and I breast feed my baby. Thanks
A.I'm an ex-Flight Attendant and although I've never flown Emirates, I've flown a lot with my own babies at that age. That airline has a good reputation and 5 months is actually a good age to fly. It gets tricky with toddlers who don't like to stay in one place. You wont have that to worry about for a while... At five months, your baby wont need food, wont crawl and will probably sleep most of the time. Here is Emirates' page on infants; [Link]  As a Flight Attendant, I have to be honest and tell you that having your little one in a car seat in his own seat is the only way to travel safely. As a parent, especially if you're alone, I can say that having that car seat makes travel much, much easier. Under two, you're allowed to hold them on your lap but if anything goes wrong, your baby is not protected. It's so nice to put the baby down somewhere too. Emirates allows European, American and Australian approved seats so check yours'. They have the silly rule about only forward facing seats. Babies shouldn't ride in cars facing forward till 12 months old so I don't see why they have this rule. I hope you can work around it. They also say that you have to have a ticket but often you can secure an extra seat at check-in if there's room. See if you can manage this at check-in. Emirates does have bassinets, which are convenient with an 11 kilos limit. They'll give you one after take-off if you're in a "bulkhead" seat so be sure to try to book that one on both legs of your journey. Since you breastfeed, not only will your baby be protected from a lot of the various viruses and bacteria on the plane but it makes flying a lot easier (experience with both here so I can compare!) Just make sure you get enough to drink since airplane air is very dry and traveling can tire you out. I can assure you that in 13 years in the air and countless breastfeeding transatlantics with my own three breastfed children, it's not a problem on board. Please do not heed any "helpful" tips to sit by a window for privacy. That would be really inconvenient and not necessary. Try for the bulkhead, if not, an aisle. If you want to cover up, practice at home first. This was my mistake. They hated having something over their heads and would yank it off. Bring your own cover as airline blankets can be heavy. My secret to easy travel was to have a good baby carrier. I know they use these a lot in Bangladesh and you probably already have one. Convenient for breastfeeding and getting on and off the aircraft, which you will be doing at least 4 times. I have to say that I think you're probably flying one of the easiest routes to London. I used to live in London and knew a lot of Bangladeshis there who had horror stories of their jouneys. One friend's parents were stuck on the tarmack in Karachi for hours. Another friend flew some Eastern European carrier while still under communism... I don't want to load this answer down with other hints but I have a totally non-commercial article on the subject you're welcome to read. I fly alot alone with three closely spaced children, especially between Europe and California (yesterday, as a matter of fact...) since each was 4 months old. Many parents over the years have contributed their own tips so feel free to visit; [Link]  There's more on strollers, packing, etc. I know there is a lot on the net on the subject but most are parents who never worked in the industry. I had the pleasure of 13 years of going through emergency and security training, as well as observing and helping other parents flying with their own... Have a good flight!

Q.Is it possible to get another class seat like business if u booked economy class?Related Search:
Air Travel
Hi guys, Let me give an example. Say you take british airways. You book a normal economy class tickets. After the flight has take off, is it possible to ask the attendants/cabin crew if we can go onto any other available seats in buisness class? Have any of you guys done that and they let you?
A.You can upgrade an economy ticket to a higher class (for you, on British Air, to premium economy because they only allow one class upgrades) by: -Paying for the upgrade -Already having elite-level frequent flyer status (usually Platinum) so the check-in system automatically processes your ticket into a higher class (sadly, these are becoming rarer) -Using frequent flyer miles to upgrade -Voluntarily getting bumped off your regular flight and taking another (this only works about 15 percent of the time in long haul flights) If there are open seats in business when the flight takes off, then they will stay open. Unfortunately, the reality is you get what you pay for =/ Good luck, and have a nice flight!

Q.Which is the best international airlines to travel with a 1 year old in economy class?Related Search:
Other - United States
My family is planning a round trip from India to US. The one -way flying time is 21 hours with one stopover. Which airline will provide the best facilities to keep my one year old son calm and patient? Does any flight provide a infant bed in economy class. I would like to hear everything on this topic. I am really worried!
A.The flight attendants with all of the major international airlines will do their best, but that depends on how well the particular aircraft you are flying on is equipped. Talk to the station manager (not a reservations agent) at your departure airport and ask, for example, if there are changing tables in the toilets. Can they warm formula for you? And so on. Most airlines allow passengers with small children to board first (you may have to ask) - do that so your carry-on bags are in the rack above your seat and not somewhere else in the cabin. It also saves having to stand in the aisle wiating for the passengers in front of you to take their seats. You don't state the length of your stopover, but check with the airlines to see what ground facilities are available for you to use if it is more than 90 minutes. You may be able to purchase a 1-day membership to their airport lounge, which will provide a much nicer place to wait between flights. If you have a long (more than 6 hours) wait between flights, consider going to an airport hotel so everyone can clean up in a real bathroom and maybe take a nap. Consult with your pediatrician about medications to help your son be comfortable during the flight - the air pressure changes will cause pain if his sinuses are not clear. Meds that will help him sleep might also be a good idea.

Q.Does Canada Airlines offer power for laptops in economy class?Related Search:
Air Travel
I'd really like to be able to use my laptop for a 14 hour flight from Sydney to Vancouver. I'm just wandering if Canada Airlines offers a way to power my laptop in an economy class seat?
A.Yes they do on the new 777-300 from Sydney to Vancouver. Air Canada (which is the airline name your talking about) has re-furbashed many of their aircraft and the new 777-300 from SYD to YVR does have in seat laptop power. beware, not at every seat though. If booking online, do this through the Air Canada website and choose your own seat with the power! use this webite to see which has the power (air canada website)

Economy class seats of Kintetsu 16000 series train (Japan)

Economy class, (also called coach class), is the lowest class of seating in air travel and rail travel.

Although it is reputed to be uncomfortable, with limited legroom and amenities, it is favoured by many travellers as it offers the cheapest seats.

[edit] Economy class in rail travel

Some railways have renamed their economy class for marketing purposes. Such names include VIA Rail's Comfort class, although Amtrak still refers to such seating as coach class. It is called second class on most European railways or standard class in the United Kingdom and Ireland.

An economy class seat in a train usually consists of a seat, sometimes with a fold-down tray for use as a work surface or for food service. The chair sometimes will recline, particularly on overnight trains, where it will permit more leg room for sleeping in a semi-upright position. The seat may also include a pocket attached to the back of the seat in front for storage of small items such as magazines. Depending on the configuration of the passenger compartment, luggage might be stowed in overhead racks or at each end of the coach.

Economy seats in North American intercity passenger trains are found almost exclusively in Coach cars, with other class fares on the train separated by the type of car (ie. sleepers, etc.). Economy seating on North American passenger trains typically does not include meal service in the fare.

On British intercity trains it is common to find some standard class seating arranged around permanent tables - offering plenty of space to work. Power sockets for laptops are common and some trains offer (chargeable) Wi-Fi Internet access in standard.

Some airlines have renamed their economy class for marketing purposes. Such names include British Airways' World Traveller, Air Canada's Hospitality/Hospitalité, Philippine Airlines' Fiesta Class (although Economy Class is widely used), LAN Tourist Class, and Air France's Tempo. The seat pitch of domestic economy class seats range from 29 to 36 inches (74 to 91 cm), usually 30–32 in (76–81 cm), and 30 to 36 in (76 to 91 cm) for international economy class seats. The seat size of domestic economy class seats range from 17 to 18.25 in (43 to 46 cm), usually 17 in (43 cm), and 17 to 19 in (43 to 48 cm) for international economy class seats.

In addition to a fold-down tray table, an economy class seat usually also includes a pocket of items attached to the seat in the next forward row, containing such things as:

In-flight entertainment[1] may be available. Some video screens, especially on older planes, are mounted on the ceiling of the aircraft or on a bulkhead so that all passengers in the cabin watch the same film. If there is an individual screen for each seat or partial row of seats, it may be smaller than first and business class screens, or there may be fewer video channels available. Headphones must be purchased on some carriers. This is often called an "entertainment fee". Airlines usually attribute this to being hygienic by not reusing and recleaning headphones. On some carriers, the headphones come in a pack with other amenities such as earplugs, eye mask etc.

Low-cost carriers often offer only economy class. These airlines are often associated with short-pitch seats, no free food or drink, and little or no reading material, but also lower fares. Such airlines include easyJet, Ryanair, and bmiBaby. Most charter airlines also offer only economy class but some are introducing 'Economy Plus' Virgin Blue and Air Transat is now offering Club class. This class is also referred to as 'cattle class' by some people, in a somewhat insulting manner.

Meals are usually provided on longer flights, although, due to drastic cost-cutting, even some mainline airlines have ceased to serve meals except on very long and international flights. Short flights usually include a soft drink and a snack such as pretzels or peanuts. Many airlines, particularly low-cost carriers charge for snacks on short flights and even on flights of a duration of more than 6 hours or more en route. Many, such as Aer Lingus and Ryanair, no longer provide complimentary soft drinks on flights that are under an hour long.

The quality of the food varies depending on a number of factors. Airlines have now introduced a variety of special meals, such as vegetarian or kosher meals, as well as dishes suited for particular nationalities. All of these requests should be ordered well before departure. Generally, domestic airlines in the United States are known for poor quality food, bordering on that of diet food. Therefore, economy class food is a frequent butt of comedians' jokes.

Because of the reputed low quality and frequent unavailability of airline food on domestic U.S. flights, some airport vendors have started to offer meals packaged so that they can be carried on to the flight.[2]

[edit] Premium Economy class

Increasingly, airlines offer a Premium Economy class to passengers willing to pay more for slightly better seats and, in some cases, better service. These include British Airways (World Traveller Plus), Virgin Atlantic (Premium Economy), EVA Air (Evergreen Deluxe Class), Pakistan International Airlines (Economy Plus+), Qantas (Premium Economy) and United Airlines (Economy Plus) among others.
