Auburn is a state university in rural Alabama. I'm sure there are Methodists there, if that's what you're looking for...it's a pretty diverse place...but in my experience, it's a place where students drink a lot of beer and have parties. | | A. | If your main concerns are tuition and being close to family, then yes it is a good choice. If you main concern is their academic program, then I honestly don't know much about it. Here's its page though [Link] . It is a respected college and I imagine you could get a good education there. Really, most say to get a career in marine bio you should get an undergraduate major in Biology and a graduate degree in Marine biology. So really you attend wherever you find suitable, get a biology degree, then get a graduate degree in marine bio somewhere else. And by the time you reach college age (a long time from now), you may be ready to move away from home or attend a different school. The only schools I personally know much about their marine bio programs are University of Southern Mississippi and Eckerd College (in Florida). I think the main thing with that degree is doing stuff outside of class, like internships, getting certified in scuba, or study abroad programs offered at your school.
