An editor will want the whole package -- photos, captions and article. If any piece is missing, it means more work for the editor and an unhappy author if his/her article gets bumped because there is no suitable artwork/photography. As an editor, I turned down dozens of excellent article ideas because there was no chance of getting a photo. The key for me getting freelance work was to tell editors that I could provide the whole package... and then I delivered it.
As for working your company and/or CEO into the article, it's hard to say without knowing what the business is. However, editors aren't dummies; if they think you are writing the article as a simple promotion of your business, you won't get far at all. The editor has to perceive that the publication's readers will benefit from the article.
