Q.Does anybody know any good entry-level jobs in terms of airport operations?Related Search:
Aircraft
Hello, everyone- I'm a freshman in high school and I need to write a report on what type of job I would like to have when I would get older. From a question that I posted earlier, I have found myself wanting a job in **airport operations** Does anybody know any goo 'entry-level' jobs for airport operations? ..my teacher is very picky and wants entry level jobs only for the report, not management jobs=/ Thanks, and happy holidays!
A.there really aren't any 'entry level' jobs in operations....the best you can do is hope to get on as maintenance or grounds crews and work your way up from there....the 'operations' side of things are more than entry level positions...at least at the airport that i work at....we're a large airport with multiple runways and passenger and cargo ops, and the operations positions pertain to day to day operations of the airport at the management or administrative levels or above.....but there are plenty of entry level jobs in ramp agents, cargo agents, ground handling of aircraft, any type of security screening, skycaps, those types of things

Q.On a Cruise when You arrive at a Port must you show your passport?Fill forms?get entry stamps like in airport?Related Search:
Cruise Travel
Just curious On a Cruise when You arrive at a Port of call must you show your passport?Do you Fill out customs and immigration forms?Do you recieve entry stamps in your passport like at an airport when you get off an international flight?
A.NO, NO!!!! You will show your passport to the cruise line officials when you first board the ship. Since you will be required to complete your personal information well before you get to the port, including your passport number and country of issue, when you first board the ship they simply verify the information in it and return it to you (with a very few exceptions where they may need to keep it). Then you can put your passport away; lock it in the safe in your cabin because you will not need it again until your cruise ends. When you arrive at the port to board the ship the cruise line will check your passport and other papers and then issue to you (each person in your cabin) a cruise card. The cruise card (called by different names on each cruise line) will serve as your pass to get off and back on the ship at each port stop. (It also serves as your room key and charge card for items purchased on ship). You will NOT need your passport to get off the ship in any Caribbean, Mexico, Canadian, South America, or most European ports; just the cruise card and in some ports you may need a photo ID like a drivers license. So you will not get any country stamp (unless you cruise some places in Europe, like Germany or Russia), and you will not need to fill out any immigration or tourist papers in most places (there are a few exception to this in Europe). When your cruise is over and your return to the port you will be required to fill out customs and immigration forms, for the US, or whatever country your cruise ends in.

[edit] Terminology

The word "international" in an airport's name usually means that it is an airport of entry, but many airports of entry do not use it. Airports of entry can range from large urban airports with heavy scheduled passenger service, like John F. Kennedy International Airport, to small rural airports serving general aviation exclusively. Often, smaller airports of entry are located near an existing port of entry such as a bridge or seaport.

On the other hand however, some "former" airports of entry chose to leave their name with the word "international" in it, even though they no longer serve international flights. One example is Osaka International Airport, or Itami Airport as locals call it. Even when Itami had ended all international services and became a purely domestic airport after the opening of Kansai International Airport in 1994, it kept its original name of "Osaka International Airport". Many airports in the nearby region have the same situation, like Taipei Songshan Airport. Songshan retained its official Chinese name, Taipei International Airport, after Chiang Kai-shek International Airport (now Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport) opened.
